I have become a blogger quite late in life. In fact today is my first day as a blogger. I tried quite often to start one and failed, though I had advice from apparently  technically savvy persons. But one afternoon, even as I was doing something at Prajwala, my friend Dr Sunitha Krishnan simply clicked a few buttons and taught me how to get this space for myself.

It takes time for me to assimilate technology and though I have learnt a lot, and  have reached a certain comfort level, I find it difficult when I have to change the status quo. It is definitely a mindset and now I have decided to learn more. It may be slightly late in the day but I have decided to start blogging.

Expressions and opinions  are free and like the rest of them I have a lot of them. But sometimes I do not have the patience, or for that matter, energy and firstly I might not have the necessary data to present my point of view, as a good reporter. The blog meanwhile, I think gives me some time to mull over issues and then write a bit.

I have written quite a bit till now and posted it on FB and glad for the responses I have received. But I am given to understand that having a blog of my own allows me more space as also more freedom. Time will tell.

As a reporter for The Week magazine, I was quite the roamer and travelled the length and breadth of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh and thanks to a few colleagues also covered quite a subject range. I will probably not relive those days, but those travels do come in handy to me even now, as I meet a local reporter or two, as I speak in the local language and as I eat their food comfortably.

While the story was important, it was the actual travel experience that stays in my memory. And I will travel some more for such memories.
